    Learning about the two functions of دام, has been very beneficial. Knowing the versatility of such a verb has helped me understand other Arabic sentences containing دام / ما دام, much better.

    Great!
    I use that same line when teaching palindromes to students (al-qalb al-mustawa).
    I believe Imam Ali said it first although perhaps our Shaykh can confirm.
