One Response to Poetry Lesson 2: ما أكثر الإخوان

  1. Maryam says:

Assalaam alaykum wa Rahmatullaahi wa Barakaatuhu yaa Fadiilatas Shaykh, HafiZakumullaah

How true is this perceptive poem! And how many of us have experienced this! And how pleasing a lesson this was! Jazaakumullaahu khair dear Shaykh!

I was also very glad to know about the ‘missing’ tanwiin on qaleel, and that this is for reasons of prosody. I had wrongly thought that poetry had its own grammar rules, because of things like this. What a relief to know that Inshaa Allaah, I can now enjoy studying poetry knowing I don’t have to learn a parallel set of rules and that these changes are for enhancing the beauty and flow of the poem!

Wasalaamu alaykum wa Rahmatullaahi wa Barakaatuh.
