Jazakumullaahu khair dear Shaykh for putting your lovely book in its entirety on your site here. I enjoyed it very much and found it a pleasure to study. And the benefit was even greater because of your choice of subject matter. The suurah contains matters that every Muslim witnesses or experiences everyday and therefore has to understand and be mindful of. I learnt so much just by reading the excellent translation before I even got to the Arabic.

I found the simple examples you gave whenever you explained anything to be most beneficial. It made the book so easy and comfortable to understand and study, Alhamdulillaah. And several times you followed up your examples with an ayah, which was so helpful too, allowing me to see the principle at work in another setting.

I very much liked the section ‘Some Important Grammatical and Lexical Issues Discussed in the Notes.’ These allowed me to locate straightaway any important principle I wanted to look up again or revise, instead of having to go through the whole book to find it. It also helped me as a ‘checklist’ as it allowed me to see from the list what I should have learnt and understood by now, or notice if I’d missed anything, or failed to realise its importance. I also used this section for testing myself – I went through each point and verbally explained them to myself and illustrated with an example. I returned to this section frequently for all these purposes. Mashaa Allaah, a brilliant idea!

I found the ‘Exercise’ section really enjoyable too because the exercises were a delightful mix of easy and challenging and set in such a variety of ways.

Jazaakumullaahu khair dear Shaykh for teaching us in ways that keep us completely engaged in and often fascinated with what we’re learning. May Allaah grant you Jannatul Firdaws.

Wasalaamu alaykum wa Rahmatullaahi wa Barakaatuh.
