Assalamu Alaikum,
I have a question on the verb which is called form 4 (tafa’ala). Could you explain why in
some cases there are two ta’s in the hadir tense and at times one ta. Is this for stylistic purposes or is there a grammatical element as well?
Jazakallah Khair
JKhair. Amazing. This is one of my favourite, if not the favourite lesson.
I think there might be a typo on pg3. The second example is the same as teh first. I think it should be:
جاء رجل
JKhair.

There is no typing error on page 3. The second example has al-rajulu with the definite article because the Shaykh uses the same example again.
جزاك الله خيرا كثيرا….
assalamu alaykum wa rahmatullah yaa shaykh,
question about the Alif and Laam in Allah, is this apart of the proper noun or is the word derived from al-Ilaah.
another question is about the harf an-nidaa in front of Allah, is the construction turn into “yallah”? or “yaa allah” which is commonly said.
I have personally noticed the dua’a of the prophet sallahu alaihi wa salaam using “allahumma” instead.
barakaallahu feeka, you’re work is tremendous and may Allah reward you for your patience and diligence in teaching this beautiful language.

The following extract from the Shaykh’s Qur’aanic Arabic Course answers your questions:
Source: ‘Selections from the Glorious Qur’aan – with Lexical & Grammatical Notes’, pg 2, quote:
” In the word الـلـّهُ, the initial letters الـــ do not constitute the definite article, but they are part of the name.
The hamzah is hamzah al-waSl, and it is omitted in pronunciation when the word is preceded by another word, e.g.
مـِنَ اللهِ
but it is not omitted in
يا اللهُ which is pronounced yaa ‘allaah.
(end quote)
Wassalaam
